The album launch, or “listening party,” for Ye’s album Donda 2 was held at LoanDepot Park Stadium in Miami. The scenography built upon and extended the narrative concept of the Donda 1 listening party, held the previous year in Chicago. In the prior iteration, an exact 1:1 scale model of Ye’s childhood was constructed and then burned live during the event. For the Miami event, the charred ruin of the home was elevated on stilts above a black platform filled with water. The show began with the ruin igniting in flames once again, followed by thick fog and a sound design intended to recall a pounding heartbeat. A large screen displayed a simulation of Pluto burning in the background during Ye’s performance.
