The “Free Larry Hoover Show,” organized by Ye and Drake, was intended to support the case of Larry Hoover, who is currently incarcerated on a 200-year sentence and held in solitary confinement in an Illinois state prison. The concert was located at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and live-streamed on multiple streaming platforms. The scenography centered around a massive circular mound, resembling a ceremonial architecture or a flying saucer. Embedded within the structure was a climatic system to produce atmospheric effects such as a dense fog, which was punctuated by a colored light display throughout the performance.
